Burntime - Pocket Edition
THIS GAME IS IN DEVELOPMENT AND AN EARLY PROTOTYPE!
The original Burnout game was done by Max Design in 1993 for PC (MS-DOS) and Amiga. All the credits for game design, graphics and music belongs to them. I just try to make a demake of the game on GameBoy via GBStudio
I will try to transfer as much content of the original game as possible to the GameBoy hardware. Due to hardware limitations i will have to make changes to game design and other aspects of the game. At the end it will hopefully a fun game that will catch the spirit of the oldschool classic.
In the near future there will also be a file available to play it on real GameBoy Hardware.
How to play in browser:
Up - Up Arrow / W
Down - Down Arrow / S
Left - Left Arrow / A
Right - Right Arrow / D
A - Ctrl / K / X
B - Alt / Z / J
Start - Enter
Select - Shift
To-Do List and stuff I will add soon:
- enemies and weapon system
- health system with regeneration
- build stuff mechanic
- dialogue system
- many many screens and backgrounds
- music and sfx (therefor I will need help :D)

Looking very, very good so far and the main mechanics seem to work (water refill, drinking, maggot-generation, eating). It oozes the nostalgic feelings for the original :)
Some things I noticed:
Returning back to the first city, I can't correctly move anymore, character is basically flying in highspeed through the cityscape and controls do not work as intended.
The wood item (?) is not visible when in "hand". Clicking picks it up and places it fine, but while the other items are "carried", this one is not.
Drinking beyond a 9 days fill will set the counter to 0 instead of 10 (but works as 10, so it's probably just a bug in the menu.
Thank you very much for the Feedback. The return back to the city bug is a new one. Its not full implemented that the position is saved correctly. Will hopefully be fixed in the next Version as well as the „drinking above 5“ because in the old Burntime Version you can just drink up to 5 and not more. Thought it was implemented…for the food it works. Have to double check
The graphic „bug“ that you cant see screws, wood and stuff like that when lifted is not fully implemented. Didnt find the Time for doing those sprites at all…there are still missing a lot of little graphics.
Thank you for your time and testing it out. The game will come to a point where I cant find all the bugs! So help is needed 😅
